For more than 40 years our mission at DMDC has been to inspire, educate and empower our students by sharing with them the highest quality of dance training available. Since 1967 our nurturing, specialized faculty, artists-in-residence and guest teachers have provided our students with a solid foundation of dance technique combined with the very latest in innovative choreography. Our curriculum includes a wide range of classes in dance, ballroom, theatre arts and fitness tailored for “Every Body” — Children, Teens & Adults.

The Center is the home of the Youth Dance Company, Kidsdance Co., HYPE and numerous performing ensembles. Our companies have performed at Disney World, Jazz Dance World Congress, and Tanzwerkstatt Internationale, and present a variety of Community Outreach programs throughout the season, performing for Arts and Cultural events, including WBZ-TV, Lowell’s Winterfest, City of Lights Festival and the Boardinghouse Park Summer Music Series. Our programs provide our students with valuable performance and community service experience.

The DMDC experience has opened the doors for many of our graduates to pursue successful careers as teachers, directors, choreographers and performers in the dance industry. Our alumni perform in national ballet and modern dance companies, with Broadway touring companies, the Rockettes, cruise lines, music videos, Las Vegas and film.

We offer both recreational and pre-professional programs. Although our program does provide career-building opportunities for students who are working toward that dream, our most important goal, from the very first Creative Movement class to performances which share the art of dance with the public, is to create a love for Dance —
